Description

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be part of the engineering leadership team in charge of continuously evolving the payroll engineering organization, delivering new functionality and maintaining existing functionality for our HCM Pro Payroll product. You will also take a servant leadership approach to help Engineers maximize their potential and achieve their professional goals.

Responsibilities

1. Facilitate productive and positive team communication and collaboration, fostering an environment of transparency and open discussion, resource planning, and working closely with other leaders and direct reports.
2. Mentor and support the professional, technical, and personal growth of team members, helping develop their career path by assigning projects tailored to their potential, personality, work style, and goals.
3. Own team processes to increase efficiency, defining, measuring, and interpreting metrics that serve as indicators of team performance.
4. Deliver simple and elegant solutions in the team portfolio based on agreed-upon timelines and commitments while cultivating an environment conducive to high team morale and productivity.
5. Set the example and expectations for team conduct, inspiring positive behavior and interactions.
6. Expedite project deliverables while maintaining a sustainable work pace that does not compromise on standards and quality.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

1. More than 10 years of relevant industry experience, with 5 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience (managing teams of 8 or more developers).
2. Large scale systems design experience.
3. Experience in Lean-Agile development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum.
4. Experience working in an enterprise-scale SaaS production environment.
5. Experience setting and achieving sound goals, for example, “SMART” goal principles.
6. Proven leadership in facilitating complex discussions to achieve goals and solve problems.
7. University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
