Job Description:

• The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.
• This may entail performing the following:
• Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
• Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
• Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Interpret complex drawings / schematics
• Often working from complex red lined mechanical/electrical drawings
• Be able to perform troubleshooting down to the component level (failure analysis down to component)
• Not just knowing that the piece failed but why it failed and help with corrective action
• Really seeking someone who can handle all of this with minimal supervision after a training period
• All related to Torpedo system development. Much of the equipment is related to complex windows-based test equipment for those torpedo systems.
• The test systems work on circuit cards that go into the torpedo system.
• Run a DMM, O-scopes, Power supplies - they should know what these are easily.
