Join us and our growing business as we supply solutions that enable the latest defense technology!Job Summary:In this role, you will perform complex and varied work to develop and recommend improvements in the Manufacturing system and in product manufacturability and cost effectiveness. You will work with our cross-functional teams on new product development. You will select, evaluate and qualify materials for new process introduction and you will provide technical guidance to the design engineers and technicians for manufacture ability and cost effectiveness.Essential Functions:Support day to day manufacturing by providing tools, information and guidance required for repeatable, high-quality productionStrong background in AS9100, IPC-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standardsSMT (Surface-mount technology) machine supportStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data resulting in sound root cause corrective actionsStudy, analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, flow, fixtures, and tooling as needed to support productionInvestigate, recommend, and implement manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement programsParticipate in customer specification and statement of work reviewsReview and analyze process change requests and implement as requiredReview current equipment capabilities and provide justification for capital investmentPerform a variety of cost analyses - including make/buy recommendationsDevelop manufacturing operating instructionsDevelop and track manufacturing metrics to monitor the health of processesEvaluate non-conformances as part of the Material Review BoardDevelop procedures and train assemblers and operators in machine operations, processes or assembly applicationsProvide customer support when neededInterface with suppliers to reduce and eliminate quality issues at incoming inspectionDevelop ROI in support of capital equipment, new process development and productivity improvementsMinimum Qualifications:Education/Certification: BS in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, or related fieldExperience: 2+ years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer with applicable solder certification standards and experience with SMT machinesKnowledge: Fundamentals of lean manufacturing practices and methods for continuous improvement.Skills/Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and AutoCADEligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
