As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by designing and implementing effective testing strategies, with the goal of making an impact across the federal government. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to identify and prevent defects, champion testing best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Agile development processes.

What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and user stories within an Agile framework.
- Design comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases based on user stories and technical specifications.
- Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects, verify fixes, and validate new features and enhancements.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks.
- Perform thorough regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains intact with each new software release.
- Investigate and report software defects, track their status, and work with the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, providing valuable input on quality-related aspects.
- Collaborate with developers to promote the importance of testability, code quality, and continuous integration in the development process.
- Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall software quality.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of testing environments and data sets that accurately represent real-world usage scenarios.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback on the quality of software releases to assist in making informed release decisions.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- At least 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, with a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience working within Agile development teams.
- Proficiency in designing and executing manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide detailed bug reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices in QA and software development.
- An active TS//SCI clearance with CI poly preferred or Active TS//SCI clearance with ability to pass a CI poly.
