Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Federal Application Developer at IBM, you'll work with clients to co-create solutions to major real-world challenges by using best practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products to translate system requirements into the design and development of customized systems. In your role, you may be responsible for:

1. Working across the entire system architecture to design, develop, and support high quality, scalable products and interfaces for our clients.
2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical specifications for generative AI projects.
3. Employing IBM's Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability.
4. Working with a variety of relational databases (SQL, Postgres, DB2, MongoDB), operating systems (Linux, Windows, iOS, Android), and modern UI frameworks (Backbone.js, AngularJS, React, Ember.js, Bootstrap, and JQuery).
5. Creating everything from mockups and UI components to algorithms and data structures as you deliver a viable product.

Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance while in IBM Consulting-Federal.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

1. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance while in IBM Consulting-Federal.
2. MA, MBA, MPA, MPP or MS at time of start.
3. Availability to start in 2025.
4. Relocation to the Washington, DC Metro Area.
5. Willingness and ability to travel up to 100%. While most projects are local to the DC Metro area, our portfolio of projects span across the U.S. Our Senior Consultants are not able to refuse assignments based on travel.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

1. Experience in pursuing your master's degree with concentrations in one of the following areas: Masters in Data Science, Data Engineer, Computer Science or similar field.
2. Prior consulting &/or relevant work experience in one of the following industries: Federal, State & Local Government.
3. A passion for the Federal Sector, coupled with the ability to understand challenges that governments and their workers face and the ability to provide solutions that will provide long-term value to the citizens of this country.
4. Capacity and eagerness to learn new assignments, systems, and tools.
5. Aptitude for technology tools and applications.
6. Experience or certification working in the Agile method and/or Six Sigma.
7. Developing business cases.
