Cleared Network Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton has a great opportunity for a Network Engineer in Chantilly, VA supporting an Intelligence Community (IC) customer. Skyfire is a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system. Its purpose is to establish a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), find RSOs of interest, and provide data to ground operators. Located in Chantilly, VA, the Skyfire team uses sensor modeling and systems engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system. This position requires a minimum of an active TS clearance.

What you'll do:

• Participate in Agile meetings (sprint planning, daily standups, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, etc.) and work in an Agile process to plan your work for future sprints and increments.
• Work with teams across Group and customers to understand cloud networking requirements for upcoming projects; develop and document Wide Area Networks (WANs) / Local Area Networks (LANs).
• Provide support and guidance to the Tier teams on the identification, isolation, and troubleshooting of network anomalies.
• Track network system build-out status, specify and configure firewalls, switches, and routers, and support other systems and network engineering tasks, as required.
• Design and implement automation through scripting and other techniques to implement cloud network infrastructure and improve operational efficiencies.
• Create network architectures and designs that are highly available and scalable for new customer systems and solutions to meet defined requirements.
• Coordinate with tenants to fully understand incidents reported, including documenting incident details in a ticketing tool, assigning as appropriate, and tracking through completion.
• Use state-of-the-art monitoring tools to gather insight and act upon results.
• Create network designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of cloud network services.
• Evaluate and recommend potential cloud networking solutions for inclusion into customer cloud service offerings and application migration solutions; participate in the procurement of network devices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at the customer's request - contract requires TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Technology or Advanced Military Training and 5+ years of network engineering experience; OR Master's Degree and 3+ years of network engineering experience. However, an additional four (4) years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• Must satisfy DoD 8570.01 Information Assurance Technical (IAT)-Level II for both Information Assurance and Computing Environment requirements.
• Experience supporting designing, building, and maintaining networks in a classified environment.
• Experience configuring VLANs, VPNs, firewalls/switches/routers (Cisco, Arista, Brocade, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.), networking and using network management functions and tools.
• Secures network and maintains device software up to date in accordance with DOD policies.
• Strong understanding of IP addressing and subnetting.
• You have 1-2 years of experience operating/maintaining/troubleshooting DoD encryption/COMSEC equipment.
• Background in supporting software and/or network operations with a clear understanding of networking fundamentals.
• You are detail/process oriented, can multi-task, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Target Salary Range
