PacBio is looking for a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems group. The candidate will work closely across the R&D organization to develop and test our next generation DNA sequencing instruments.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate architecture discussions between Subject Matter Experts in the Instrument Engineering, Software, Scientist, Semiconductor Integrated Devices and Product Marketing groups to define critical interfaces while balancing competing requirements.
2. Create experiments and tools to integrate, test and monitor complex systems.
3. Coordinate, with scientists and design engineers from a variety of backgrounds, to investigate and resolve system issues.
4. Data mine and drive improvements across the product lines and organization.
5. This is an onsite role.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

1. Typically requires a minimum of 4-8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 2-6 years experience with a Master’s degree; or 0-5 years experience with a PhD.
2. Advanced degree, or equivalent experience, in physics, engineering, computer science, or related field.
3. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Highly curious, self-motivated, and organized with an ability to work in strong team-driven and highly performing organization.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Proficient with scripting (bash, Python).
7. Experience with complex instrumentation and software development environment.
8. Knowledge of Unix systems administration, networking, and large-scale computer hardware is strongly desired.
9. Familiarity with optics, Semiconductor Integrated devices & CMOS is a plus.

Salary Range: $128,800.00 - $193,200.00
