What you’ll do:

As the Senior Product Design Engineer based in Bristol, IN or Landisville, PA, you will be at the forefront of driving the design, development, and validation of vehicle design features for our Utilimaster division. Your role as Product Design Engineer will be critical for improving the quality and durability of Utilimaster vehicles.

You will also be accountable for driving new product improvement and new product development projects, maintaining legacy products, and overseeing the conceptual design of new components and sub-systems, staying within the limits of our manufacturing equipment and assembly capabilities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  1. Driving new product improvement and new product development projects and maintaining legacy products.
  2. Oversee the conceptual design of new components and sub-systems.
  3. Designing engineering solutions that are accurate, timely, and cost-effective.
  4. Analyzes new designs using CAD layouts, stack-ups, analytical tools, and various internal applications and techniques to solve engineering challenges.
  5. Generating DFMEAs for components and sub-assemblies and generating design validation plans and reports.
  6. Using Lean and Six Sigma techniques to achieve simplification and commonization.
  7. Executing test plans to fully validate components and systems.
  8. Drafting and communicating engineering reports in support of the validation process.
  9. Ensuring your solutions meet customer expectations, perform over the warranty period, and comply with regulatory requirements.
  10. Preparing presentations and communicating plans and results to suppliers and customers.
  11. Maintaining quality standards through following proper inspection procedures.
  12. Applying problem-solving techniques and methodologies to manufacturing and assembly problems.
  13. Evaluating engineering solutions and understanding unintended consequences for manufacturing strategies, tooling, and options.
  14. Launching revisions to drawings, solid models, and bills of material.
  15. Utilizing Aurora software to research specifications, structure, and component parts compatibility.
