Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCi Technologies is hiring a Sr. Electrical Project Engineer to join our MEP practice.

  • Qualified candidates will have 6+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in MEP Building Systems profession.
  • Responsible for working independently to develop electrical design drawings for building systems, including creating a one-line diagram, load analysis, panel schedules, and researching product data sheets for various equipment.
  • Selecting/specifying electrical equipment like switchboards, panels, transformers, and lighting controls.
  • Answering questions about design during the construction process to provide guidance and information to architects and contractors.
  • Communicating professionally with clients and other engineers.
  • PE License is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Appropriate graduate level work. Master's degree preferred.
  • 6 - 10 years of professional experience. PE Required.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring projects involving both overhead and underground engineering systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Performance Expectations

  • Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff.
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence.
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
  • Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements.
  • Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required.
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target (75%-80% typical).
  • Attend bi-weekly (or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks.
  • Chart and provide task performance results.
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope.
  • Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required.
  • Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters.
  • Provide technical project and staff oversight.
