Job Description
This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly-skilled transportation professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. We are seeking candidates who want to work in a creative and collaborative environment to successfully deliver Muller's numerous transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities
- Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects
- Support Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination
- Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians on various design support tasks
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish
- Lead design for multidisciplinary projects
- Perform field observation work when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- 8+ years of experience in the design of transportation facilities
- Knowledge and experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
- A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients' overall project goals
- Hydraulics and/or traffic experience is a plus
- Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state
