In this role, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing project documents and accurately estimating costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. - Provide detailed quantity of labor and material takeoff for all systems.
- Review and assess estimating documents to ensure successful low-bid outcomes.
- Identify and report on risks, opportunities, and scope.
- Obtain competitive quotations and compare them on a like-for-like basis.
- Collaborate as a key member of the estimating team.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and review bid documents with the Chief Estimator.
- Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
- Participate in the hand-off of successful projects, including a key role in our Job Kick-Off Meetings.
- Bachelor of Science in a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 or more years estimating HVAC and/or plumbing projects, or field equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in computer software programs, particularly Auto Bid Mechanical Estimating Software.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Ability to communicate professionally in deadline-driven environments.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete tasks.
- Strong work ethic, with organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff in a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Danforth offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, 401(k), with company match, and participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The estimated compensation range for this role is $58,000-$100,000. This range is based on several factors, including individual education, qualifications, training, prior work experience, and work location.
