Scout Energy is a private energy investment firm that acquires, operates, and improves upstream conventional oil and gas properties for institutional investors. Scout's business is both the management of the private energy funds and the operations of the oil and gas assets it owns. The current employee base is approximately 1100 with 180 employees in the Dallas (headquarters) office.
Scout is seeking a Facilities Engineer to provide process and facilities engineering support as part of Scout's Facilities Projects department. The position supports a mix of plants and facilities located in Kansas, Texas, Colorado and other areas of Scout's operations. The position also includes a significant role in the development and support of process condition monitoring. The position will provide leadership and support to the plants, as well as the production and maintenance departments by expanding, improving, and maintaining Scout's facilities, various assets, production work, and equipment technologies.

Scout is seeking a Facilities Engineer to provide process and facilities engineering support as part of Scout's Facilities Projects department. The position will provide leadership and support to the plants, as well as the production and maintenance departments by expanding, improving, and maintaining Scout's facilities, various assets, production work, and equipment technologies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process and Facility Engineering support of 5-6 plants of various production scale; monitor and/or review plant performance (i.e. efficiency, reliability) and proactively identify and troubleshoot operating issues
- Support for plant HSE (health, safety & environment) performance, including air quality; this includes adherence to policies and procedures, support of Process Safety Management, engineering support of environmental compliance, and participation in safety programs and training
- Identify, evaluate, and implement productivity projects that improve reliability, efficiency, costs, and/or capacity at the plant(s); define work scope, generate project requests as required to execute these projects
- Prepare for, and support, efforts during plant turnarounds, including project execution, catalyst changeouts, and investigation of inspection discoveries
- Develop and refine process condition and financial monitoring models to identify plant performance gaps, enable effective troubleshooting of abnormal conditions, and yield solutions to plant operating issues
- Collaborate with Plant Operators, Operations Engineers, and Marketing to utilize process condition and financial monitoring across a range of opportunities and issues in the facilities
- Assist with EPA paperwork and filings as needed by Scout's Regulatory department
- Process simulation experience, Scout utilizes ProMax software
- Equipment performance evaluation & rating (compression, pumps, columns, heat exchangers, etc.)
- Experience with related disciplines such as process controls, process safety and plant design
- Experience with condensate stabilization, NGL recovery, nitrogen rejection, helium recovery, gas treatment and dehydration preferred
- Experience in pipeline and system modeling
- Experience with production operations, surface facilities, and artificial lift mechanisms is a plus
- Ability to comprehend oil and gas purchase agreements and generate associated economic models related to oil and gas purchase/sale
- Project development and execution experience
- Ability to make balanced decisions weighing operability, reliability, capital costs, and operating costs

- B.S. degree in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred; other disciplines will be considered based on experience
- 5+ years of plant experience in an engineering role; operations engineering support and/or operations experience with troubleshooting experience are beneficial
- Travel may be required between our field and corporate office (20-30%)
