As a Senior Software Engineer for Client and Firmwide Platforms at BXTI, you will be a key leader responsible for driving the strategy, development, and delivery of technology solutions that support Blackstone's client-facing and firmwide platforms. You will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive innovation, foster a culture of excellence, and contribute to the long-term growth and success of Blackstone. As a senior individual contributor, you will be responsible for guiding and implementing key technical solutions across the Fund Finance and Investor Reporting space, as well as mentoring more junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic vision and leadership for the Client and Firmwide Platforms team, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.
- Technology Strategy: Define and execute the technology roadmap for client-facing and firmwide platforms, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior executives, business stakeholders, and technology partners to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Solution Architecture: Provide technical guidance and oversight in the design and architecture of software applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Project Execution: Drive the successful execution of technology projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and technology partners to evaluate and select solutions, manage relationships, and drive value for Blackstone.
- Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and provide thought leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong command of NextJS or React, FastAPI, Python, C#, and relevant technologies.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring teams of software engineers and technical professionals.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.
- Deep understanding of software development principles, architecture, and best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives and business stakeholders.
- Track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate through ambiguity and drive results.
- Experience in the financial services industry or related field is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
