Job Description
Summary: The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Using Creo/ SolidWorks, design Lifting tackles/ equipment to handle Heavy Fab. Handling Fab includes but not limited to staging, storing and transporting painted or Raw Frames and Lift Arms between buildings and to the POU.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
- Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
- Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
- Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Ability to design 3D model for Material Handling Tackles using Creo or SolidWorks, weight and capacity analysis for the design, make sketches, engineering drawings and computations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with CREO/SOLIDWORKS, computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 2-4 years experience required.
Position's Contributions to Work Group:
- Logistics engineer for Yard parts and mobile logistics carts and AGvs
Typical task breakdown:
Worker will need to be flexible; tasks and needs will change
-Candidate needs to be prepared for a 50/50 split from being at their desk to being in the field.
Interaction with team:
- Combination of team and individual work
- 15-20 team members
- Will work with other departments
Work environment:
- On shop floor 50% /Office mix 50%
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, manufacturing, or supply chain)
-2-4 years of relevant experience (logistics, industrial, manufacturing, or supply chain engineering experience)
Technical Skills
(Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Design experience, CREO/SOLIDWORKS Experience, AutoCAD or other similar electronic drafting experience is required.
-Proficiency in Excel.
-A background in Designing, Manufacturing, Operations, Inventory Management, Material Requirements and/or Supply Chain/Logistics is highly desired
-Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
(Desired)
- Designing Logistics lifting tackles for forklifts is highly desired.
