Job Requirements / Description

The Assistant Designer will play a pivotal role in supporting our design process, managing line sheet updates, sample requests, attending fittings, working on tech packs, managing status of photos/samples/production fit samples, and being involved with every step of the design process from concept through the fit process and final approvals for production.


The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and can work independently. The Assistant Designer must work well in a fast-paced environment and abide by deadlines. Passionate about design and organized in their approach, this individual must be excited about taking a hands-on role within a design team to support and contribute to the design process.


This role is based at our Venice office and reports to the Creative Director.


Responsibilities Include


  • Support the design team with designing and executing collections. This includes tracking samples and development, updating sketches and creating line sheets, attending fittings, working on tech packs, attending photoshoots, contributing fresh and innovative ideas to the design process.
  • Will provide support in the following; tech packs, WIP updates, sketching, fittings, fit comments, organization and line sheet updates..
  • Attend product fittings and take notes on changes to share with factories and update sketches as appropriate. 
  • Work to help create tech packs and work on fit comments as needed 
  • Assisting on set of our photoshoots
  • Extra hand with general design studio management and general tidiness and organization along with the rest of the team.


Requirements


  • A strong understanding of design process and the Shop Form customer 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design.
  • 0-2 years of experience at Women’s Fashion Company.
  • Proficient in Excel, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Flat sketching on the illustrator.
  • Basic knowledge of creating tech packs, apparel construction, and design.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Desire and ability to research and report on industry trend direction, color direction, and fabric innovations approximately 9-12 months ahead of season
  • Ability to clearly communicating both verbally and in written form internally and with external partner
