What You Will Do:

In this role, you will be the technical lead for our electrical design team for both new design developments and sustaining, primarily focusing on hardware with a complementary understanding of software and firmware.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Lead critical design decisions, conduct trade studies, and translate customer requirements into actionable system and subsystem specifications.
  2. Collaborate with customers, guiding the development of internal technical roadmaps to meet evolving customer needs and ensure Korry remains at the forefront of innovation. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partnering organizations for ongoing and new business product development.
  3. Responsible for supporting a team of system, hardware, and software engineers in the development of avionics products while also supporting the servicing of already fielded products.
  4. Significantly contributes to end-to-end product development, spanning all aspects of the product life cycle: from product concept inception strategy, requirements validation, product development, design, testing, certification, product delivery and to post-delivery support.
  5. Establish a culture of proactive cross-functional technical oversight, risk management and rapid issue resolution.
  6. Serve as technical authority on applicable product and engineering boards.
  7. Provides oversight over Engineering execution within the program, having decision authority over Engineering activities.
  8. Supports technical discussions at every level internally and externally.
  9. Validate overall budget and schedule for program Engineering tasks, working closely with the engineering discipline organizations to review program execution.
  10. Supports the creation of executable Estimates at Completion (EAC) for the program in collaboration with the responsible Engineering leaders.
  11. Oversee and manage engineering Risks and Opportunities across the programs, leveraging the enterprise to mitigate key risks and capture opportunities.
  12. Supports technical reviews engineering management of suppliers in accordance with subcontractor statement of work, requirements specifications, and engineering processes.
  13. Responsible for the design artifacts supporting the Certification dossier.
  14. Some travel will be required.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
  2. 10+ years of relevant experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles for avionics, or related products in the defense, commercial or related industries.
  3. Proven expertise in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on combined hardware/software systems and systems integration.
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decisions on complex technical issues and system trades.
  5. Ability to perform system analysis to ensure subsystem specifications, when all tied together, meet product requirements.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Experience with SAE ARP4256, ARP 4754, RTCA DO-178 and DO-254.
  8. Optical design experience is a plus.
  9. Experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD-704/461 is a plus.

Salary Range:

Please note the typical hiring range is $140,000 - $190,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
