What you’ll do…

Enchanted Rock is seeking a proactive and experienced Electrical/Controls Engineering Manager to develop and lead a dynamic team of engineers. In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for the development, design, and support of all aspects of electrical and controls engineering. This role will oversee all the technical aspects with project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that objectives are achieved within defined timelines. The Engineering Manager is also the senior technical mentor for the group, ensuring consistency across the Enchanted Rock engineering approach and practices, helping to enable the company’s high reliability and availability service. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of managing time-sensitive projects and process improvements and will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Managing a team of engineers and technicians, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and optimization of generator controls, ATS, and integration of other DERs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as design, testing, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration and implementation of engine technologies.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to internal combustion engines.
  • Providing strong leadership and direction to the electrical and controls team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Setting clear objectives and goals for the team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Preparing and managing calibration along with resource schedule to meet development deadlines.
  • Developing project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and deliverables, to meet project objectives and milestones.
  • Coordinating and prioritizing activities within the team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and making necessary adjustments to ensure project success.
  • Working closely with OEMs on engineering cost reduction projects through all stages including proposal, research, planning, engineering, and design handover to manufacturing.
  • Supporting in conducting failure analysis, determining causes and effects, documenting reliability and maintainability trends, and identifying design improvements to prevent similar issues.
  • Supporting sustaining engineering by providing technical expertise to root cause and corrective assessments addressing degraded system performance, parts obsolescence, and overall systems reliability degradation.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company management.

Requirements

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or a related field.

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in electrical engineering and controls development related to generators or distributed energy resources.

• Advanced understanding of industrial control equipment (metering, protective relaying, relay ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs and HMIs).

• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve project goals.

• Excellent project management abilities, including planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

• In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

• Proficient in utilizing engineering software and tools for engine design and analysis.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
