Job Summary & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer to join our team focused on developing software for Onto Innovations optical metrology and inspection systems. The systems utilize optics, image processing, numerical algorithms, advanced motion control, robotics, custom electronics, and network-based factory automation software. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or engineer that is interested in semiconductors and advanced machine control software.
In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with other engineers to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in C# under the Windows environment.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and system issues.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Proficiency in at least one high-level language such as C, C++, C#, JavaScript, or Java.
- Proficiency in at least one GUI technology like HTML, WinForms, or QT.
- Experience or familiarity with Windows environment development.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- A B.A. or B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong desire to work in the semiconductor industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Willingness to engage in occasional international travel.
Preferred Requirements:
- Hands-on project or internship experience in related domains.
- Understanding or experience in semiconductors, optics, image processing, numerical algorithms, advanced motion control, C#, Windows, WinForms, robotics, custom electronics, or network-based factory automation software.
- A M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
