SNC is on the lookout for a Systems Engineer with a specialization in IR sensor systems to support the design, integration, and validation of a cutting-edge sensor mission system on an airborne platform. In this dynamic role, you will engage in the full lifecycle of these systems, from initial concept development, lab verification analysis and testing, to the culmination of the deployment of qualified flight hardware. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries. what you can expect:Generous paid time off and flex timeFriendly and talented colleaguesExclusive SNC company eventsLeadership and development trainingSNC Mentorship ProgramEducation reimbursementModern Campus setting built with collaboration spaces, spectacular mountain views and natural light throughoutFree to use fitness center on-siteState-of-the-art coffee houseFull-service Cafeteria with planned breakfast and lunch optionsAccess to walking and biking trailsResponsibilities:Support system design and Architecture for IR Sensor Systems: Oversee the design and architecture of infrared sensor systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and objectives.Requirements Management: Effectively manage system requirements throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs.Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software, electrical, and optical engineers.System Integration and Testing: Support the integration and testing phases to ensure seamless functionality and performance of the sensor systems in both laboratory and final integration.Compliance and Reliability: Help ensure that all systems comply with relevant standards and certifications, and are reliable under operational conditions.ICD Creation: Support the develop and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to clearly define system interfaces.Support in Performance Analysis: Assist in the analysis of system performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal operation.Defining Sensor Interfaces: Support in the definition of sensor interfaces to ensure compatibility and integration with other system components.Must-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experiencePractical knowledge of engineering principles and practicesExperience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsKnowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principlesGeneral knowledge of optical imaging system components (lenses, sensors, sensor and image processing electronics, etc.) and their characterizationStrong understanding of the systems engineering life cycleAbility to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for eachExperience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customerAn active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is requiredPreferred:Knowledge and experience with radiometric modelingKnowledge of image processing techniquesProficiency in an analytical toolchains/languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python)Model development and validation relevant to EO/IR remote sensingProficient laboratory skillsExperience with image processing techniques for EO/IR sensorsExperience with MBSE techniques (e.g. Cameo, SysML, etc)Experience with signature and/or scenario modeling/software packages (MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM)Knowledge of the OMS/UCI standardExperience with missions system environmental qualificationKnowledge of Agile development process and tools like JIRA#Ll-hybridEstimated Starting Salary Range: $91,154.71 - $125,337.72.
