RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer in Cleveland, OH.

Overview:

The PSG IT DevOps Engineer manages processes and technologies that enable business value by delivering high quality software at speed and scale. They focus on standardized platforms that are built and managed via automation. They are responsible for the configuration, automation implementation, and support of web solutions in a global environment. You will maintain current or near current levels of software, patches, features, and configurations for the IT systems, supports project teams in delivering new capabilities to our customers, with team members who focus on operational excellence, innovation, delivery, and organizational learning.

Strategy & Planning:

  1. Support management in the implementation of long-term strategic goals for technologies and related products in conjunction with business requirements
  2. Support technology platforms in conjunction with business owners and department managers
  3. Work with development staff to implement architectures, tuning/coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
  4. Assist with the implementation of redundant systems, policies, and procedures for backup/recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
  5. Assist with evaluating software through implementing new software versions, technology, and processes
  6. Collaborate with other engineers to align solutions across platforms

Acquisition & Deployment:

  1. Support Management in ensuring the quality of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
  2. Implement software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts
  3. Assist with feasibility studies for system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings, where required

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience
  2. 1+ years of IT experience
  3. 1+ years of experience with Application Servers or similar installation and performance tuning
  4. 1+ years of working with web-based architecture and concepts including SSL, Domains, DNS Content delivery networks
  5. 1+ years of experience with automation and deployment tools (Ruby, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions)
  6. 1+ years of experience building cloud solutions for application implementation
  7. 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  8. Understand concepts of security related tooling (Web Application Firewall, SAST, DAST)
  9. Working knowledge of Apache based Webserver, or Nginx
  10. Understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing and network concepts
  11. Understanding and familiarity with Linux or *nix operating systems
  12. Experience with task automation via scripting

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Enterprise Content Management System experience
  2. AWS or other cloud experience
  3. Understanding of Infrastructure as Code approaches to infrastructure management
  4. Understanding of Container security, management, implementation, and orchestration in a cloud environment
  5. Ability to drive innovation across the team and department
  6. Application Performance Management (Dynatrace or similar)
  7. Good knowledge of LDAP concepts and experience working with a LDAP Directory
  8. Experience with Agile development and release practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
