Design Release Engineer - Chassis & Suspension

Job Purpose (Significance of the Role & Objectives):

The Automotive Chassis & Suspension Design Release Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing Chassis, Suspension systems for EV automobiles. They will work closely with other engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure that the systems they develop meet the performance, safety, and cost requirements of the project.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Design and develop chassis & suspension for EV automobiles.
• Work with other engineers to develop and refine design concepts.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to evaluate and optimize design concepts.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on designs from other team members
• Make changes or modifications to component parts of assigned vehicle families (change notices - CNs)
• Determine and publish temporary or definitive approvals for Part Validations of assigned vehicle families
• Create and maintain documentation of design concepts, analysis, and test results
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate components and materials
• Develop and conduct tests to verify and validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Analyze test results and make design modifications as necessary.
• Issue product change notifications (CNs)
• Verify the manufacturing process of the product prior to part production
• Request and obtain concurrences for: Validations, temporary and definitive deviations of the designed product
• Obtain information on product changes, implementation dates of product changes, technical service bulletins and/or campaigns, product engineering standards, parts listings, and engineering graphics
• Work with manufacturing engineers to ensure that designs can be efficiently and cost-effectively produced.
• Communicate project status and technical information to project managers and other stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 08 - 10 years of experience in automotive suspension and steering design.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA).
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to chassis, braking, suspension and steering systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in automotive chassis, braking, suspension and steering systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
