Job Title: Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (240002IX)

Description:

Children's National is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence ("BI") Engineer in the healthcare industry to design, develop, and implement reporting solutions for a growing data analytics team.

The role involves creating complex enterprise-level data assets that provide valuable business insights and support decision-making. These assets include (but are not limited to) reports, visualizations, dashboards, and data extracts using tools such as SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, and Oracle Analytics Cloud. Producing detailed reports and performing quantitative and qualitative analysis using Electronic Health Record (EMR) data to address key business issues. Additionally, you will combine your analysis with subject-matter expertise to deliver clear, insightful takeaways, comprehensive readouts, and actionable recommendations based on the data.

In this role, you will also contribute to the development of the BI strategy and mentor team members to help standardize work processes across the BI team, ensuring consistency and best practices within the team, with a focus on enhancing business intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science) (Required)
  • 6 years of related experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience with Business Intelligence; Data Analysis; Microsoft Azure; SAS; SQL; PowerBI, Tableau, or other business intelligence software.
  • Experience with Data Modeling; Python; Quality Assurance; SQL.
  • Experience with Analytical Techniques; Business Analysis; Quantitative Analysis; Risk Analysis; Root Cause Analysis; Statistical Process Controls.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio; User Flows; Workflows.

Optional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience in the healthcare field.
  • Experience with healthcare data policies.
  • Microsoft certifications in Azure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.

Functional Accountabilities:

  • Develops complex BI solutions architecture that accurately translates business requirements to technology solutions and ensures the design will meet business requirements throughout the lifecycle of a change.
  • Participates in and implements day-to-day activities related to defining architecture, establishing infrastructure, and implementing standards used to create frameworks/patterns for delivering business intelligence solutions.
  • Conducts complex business analysis activities to enable technology solutions that adequately fulfill strategic business needs and objectives.
  • Delivers complex and extensive project setups, analysis, data flows, designs (wireframe/mock-up), etc., for and in partnership with customers.
  • Helps lead the execution of long-term strategic goals for business intelligence development in conjunction with end users, management, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conducts extensive research and makes expert recommendations on business intelligence products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Performs and oversees complexity and difficulty of programming, quality assurance reviews, documentation, system deployment, training, and project setup/support.
  • Provides timely and appropriate communication to business owners, stakeholders, and users on issue status and resolution.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements the business intelligence architecture as a core asset.
  • Collaborates with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management, process efficiency with respect to data and delivery.
  • Collaborates with both Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Architecture on the solutions/service design to ensure it conforms to enterprise architectural standards for future roadmaps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
