About the Team: The Ads Brain team is a core technology group within Microsoft’s rapidly growing digital advertising business, focused on large scale deep learning applications.
Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with a passion for deep learning systems and algorithms. The team applies large scale deep learning technologies to enhance our advertising business, managing powerful GPUs and billions of tokens of OpenAI LLMs, driving real-time GPU model serving, optimizing model performance, and maintaining high throughput deep learning pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Innovate to advance deep learning systems and algorithms.
- Identify areas for improvement through collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Drive system prototypes and assist in production deployment preparation.
- Address impactful technical problems and translate innovative ideas into production.
- Utilize cutting-edge open-source projects to enhance deep learning applications.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with C++ or Python.
- 1+ year of experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, OnnxRuntime, vLLM, TensorRT-LLM).
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred:
- 6+ years of technical engineering experience with C++ or Python.
- 1+ year of experience in GPU/CUDA programming.
- Experience in software architecture, design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving.
Compensation: The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year, with higher ranges in specific locations such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
