Mid-Level UI/UX Designer
CGI has an immediate need for a Mid-Level UI/UX Designer in Reston, VA or Plano, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest leaders in the secondary mortgage industry. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies.
This position is located in our Reston, VA or Plano, TX office with work performed at client site in a hybrid working model.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Provide insight into design principles and creative methods to tackle sophisticated enterprise problems and achieve business objectives.
- Lead the discovery, synthesis, ideation, design, and testing of new experiences, products, and tools.
- Uncover user needs utilizing design research (e.g., user interviews, contextual inquiry, ethnography, etc.) to develop user-driven insights and inform new design concepts.
- Work cross-functionally (i.e., with product management, researchers, developers, and design teams) to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
- Ensure the needs of the user, customer, or other actor are included in the product vision, strategy, and roadmap planning.
- Own the design of sophisticated projects, including research, conceptualization, prototyping, and user testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visual, and experience.
- Communicate design concepts and detailed design rationale to partners and team members.
- Contribute to the development of design guidelines and standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 5-8 years of proven experience as a Mid UI/UX Designer role.
- 2 to 3 years of recent experience in Banking or Mortgage Industry.
- Portfolio of design work that demonstrates a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Experience working within a multi-discipline team, leading design efforts on complex enterprise internal or B2B web applications.
- Expertise in testing and validating ideas with interactive prototypes and testing.
- Expertise in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision.
- Experience working with and contributing to Design System(s).
- Skills related to influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
- Expert in communicating information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
- Ability to conduct user research and usability testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent communication and team player.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Skilled in Figma building interface designs, prototypes, and libraries.
- Skilled in using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe XD, and Acrobat.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in design or computer science.
- Master's Degree (Desirable).
