Transmission Line Engineer (12 Month Contract)

Join a leading West Coast utility known for its commitment to reliability, sustainability, and innovation in power delivery. We are seeking a Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer to support ongoing projects in Las Vegas. This role will focus on design, analysis, and project support for transmission line engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed design, analysis, and optimization of transmission line projects (69kV to 500kV).
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure efficient project execution, including design, scheduling, and material procurement.
• Conduct field visits and site assessments to ensure design compliance and project feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project milestones on time and within budget.
• Utilize industry software (e.g., PLS-CADD, AutoCAD) to develop and review transmission line designs.
• Ensure adherence to all utility standards, industry codes (NESC, IEEE), and regulatory requirements.
• Support risk assessments and provide engineering input during construction phases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or related field).
• 3-7 years of experience in transmission line engineering, preferably with utility or consultancy firms.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and other design software used in transmission line engineering.
• Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., NESC, IEEE, ASCE) and state regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with high-voltage (69kV-500kV) transmission lines is a plus.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license is a bonus but not required.
