This job was posted by : For more information, please see: CNC Machinist is responsible for the timely and accurate production of machined parts per the specifications and requirements of the shop traveler. The CNC Machinist is also responsible for error-free processing of each order, and for completing the necessary paperwork and computer data entries associated with the CNC Production Process. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and proving out new parts.Responsibilities and DutiesAs a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the CNC Machinist. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.Effectively and efficiently carry out production process:Receive order from Production PlannerAllocate, pull, and load materialSet up machine and run jobInspect products using precision measuring toolsClean, deburr, label, and stage finished partsOffload scrap or stock and return any materials as neededProcess job though the system and maintain an organized, clean work areaVerify quality to ensure the product meets the customers specificationsPerform setup and prove out first part runsAbility to read blueprints and drawings to verify completed parts meet requirementsCoordinate with programming for any program changesReport any problems or needs to the Production SupervisorRegularly clean and maintain equipment and machineryTroubleshoot CNC functionsAdhere to Sunshine Metals safety rules, quality standards, and proceduresKeep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the dayTrain other team members on CNC machine operations as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentFive or more years of machine setup & operating experienceGood organizational, problem solving, and time management skillsAbility to measure using different toolsAbility to use pneumatic and hand toolsAbility to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
