What You Will Do:

The Applications Engineer supports our growing sales and design efforts to develop custom cooling packages and heat exchanger solutions utilizing API technology and product lines for the data center market. This position requires an independent thinker with strong time management skills and excellent communication skills.

  • Using knowledge of heat transfer, fluid flow and the performance of heat exchangers, design custom cooling packages and solutions that meet customer needs and specifications.
  • Evaluate aluminum bar plate air cooler (radiator, oil cooler and charge-air-cooler) performance with respect to heat transfer and fluid flow and find cooling systems solutions for our OE customers.
  • Utilize API technology simulation software tools to design heat exchanger to meet customer performance requirements.
  • Generate cost estimates, quotations and perform the necessary follow-up activities to facilitate the award of new business.
  • Work closely with other departments, the manufacturing plant, Project Engineer and data center team to ensure new models are delivered on time and meet all customer requirements.
  • Onsite customer technical sales support and on-site cooling test support.
  • Monitor feedback from the field and initiate product improvement when appropriate.
  • Support and manage post award activities to ensure products meet the customer's functional requirements.
  • Participate in Engineering and New Product Initiative activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heat exchanger technology.

What You Bring:

  • Applications engineering experience and familiarity with heat exchanger sizing and performance simulation software for applications design.
  • Ability to quickly learn and operate API technology simulation software for heat exchanger performance simulations.
  • Product knowledge of Aluminum bar & plate, shell & tube, plate heat exchangers.
  • New product development processes and procedure experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or proven industry experience - heat transfer is specialization preferred.
  • Knowledge of the data center industry is preferred.
