Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer takes ownership of stories and drives them to completion through all phases of the entire 84.51° Engineering process. This includes external facing and internal applications, as well as process improvement activities.

1. Perform development in Python, Angular, and Fast API based Build reusable code and libraries
2. Contribute to design, develop reusable UI components and highly available, low latency, cloud native applications
3. Participate in full software development life cycle (SDLC) of cloud-based solutions – conceptualize, design, develop, test, deploy and support/enhance
4. Feel comfortable engaging with the cloud ecosystem – Azure Cloud Services
5. Partner with senior resources, gaining insights
6. Develop subject matter expertise of the products/components developed and supported.
7. Provide mentoring to junior resources
8. Participate in retrospective reviews
9. Participate in the estimation process for new work and releases
10. Bring new perspectives to problems
11. Be driven to improve yourself and the way things are done

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree desired) typically in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Analytics or another technically strong program.
2. Understanding of Agile Principles (Scrum)
3. 3+ years Spring Boot and/or Java development experience
4. 3+ years or proficient in advanced Angular JS and Typescript
5. 3+ years or proficient in JavaScript
6. Familiarity integrating Restful APIs, a good understanding of microservices architecture
7. Proficient in HTML5, CSS3
8. Proficient in async request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
9. Proficient in Object Oriented Principles
10. Exposure to server-side CSS pre-processing platform (SASS or LESS)
11. Experience with VCS (Git, SVN)
12. Understanding of CI/CD

This is a Hybrid position. Candidates must be able to come into the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week. We have locations in Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, Deerfield, IL, New York, NY, and Portland, OR.
