About Team
Everyone has data, but the sheer volume of data at Walmart can be limitless. In the Data Engineering team, we help Walmart manage this data by building pipelines and data lakes to prepare big data for analysis and unlocking actionable insights in real-time. We also use cross-departmental data and machine learning to build a holistic view of true profitability, saving millions of dollars across item categories and geographies while assisting our leadership in making better decisions faster.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain data pipelines and architecture specific to analytics.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business & reporting needs - Propose, design and develop creative dashboard solutions that provide required insight, improve/automate processes and add value.
- Provide technical expertise in areas of architecture, design, and implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build systems.
- Influence and educate the team with your experience, ideas, and learning.
What You'll Bring
- Experience leveraging big data technologies such as Hive, Hadoop, Spark.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and architecture.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Python, PySpark.
- Experience with visualization tools for data reporting such as Tableau, Looker.
- ETL Experience.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with other teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
- 5 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
- Master's degree in Computer Science and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related field.
- 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
