About the role:


10x is looking for an outstanding Data Analyst to join the Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) team. This is a key position for MSE and the broader Operations team to ensure development of data pipelines, ensure accessibility of data, and design of data analytics tools.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, data visualization and data analysis. Knowledge and hands-on experience with development and maintenance of scalable data visualization tools, trend analysis, data storage architecture and developing statistical process control for manufacturing is required. Candidates should also have a strong working knowledge of Operations processes and KPIs.

What you will be doing:


  • Collect requirements for data visualization/analysis projects and work with stakeholders to fully define and prioritize projects.
  • Transform business requirements into technical requirements for data visualization/analysis projects.
  • Create and maintain analysis tools and dashboards.
  • Partner with the stakeholders, ensuring minimal disruption to data workflows, and implement and optimize ETL processes to develop and scale data integration and analysis of quality-related data (quality control, nonconformances, manufacturing data) and from various sources.
  • Write custom database queries to extract and aggregate MES, SCADA, and QC data from multiple sources, analyze this data and establish trends and guard bands for process control.
  • Contribute to CAPA investigations and remediation. Provide data analysis and support for root cause investigations.
  • Produce reports on process / method capabilities, component variability and ANOVA.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing, conduct in-depth data analysis, and clearly communicate these results through documentation and presentations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., customer-facing support teams, centralized data team, finance, logistics, manufacturing engineering, quality, and R&D) to understand data requirements and ensure data is readily available for analysis.
  • Document data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes and efficiency.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Degree in Computer science, Data science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field, with an emphasis in statistical process control and monitoring.
  • BS with 9+ years of experience, or MS / PhD with 5-8 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience developing process control for the manufacture of successful products.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience with ETL development and proficiency in SQL; experience with transactional and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms & services (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Services).
  • Experience with standard statistical analysis software (e.g. JMP, R, CHARTrunner, Minitab, Matlab) is required.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Retool).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization, with a compelling technology, and taking products and processes to the next level.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies a must.
  • Familiarity with Next Gen Sequencing data and key sequencing pipelines and metrics a must.
