Senior Network Engineer

Systems Integration & Development (SID) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in Rockville, MD and is currently seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer. This is a full-time position available onsite (hybrid) in New Carrollton, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues. Provide Level 3 routing and switching support.
2. Provide support for BareMetal setups (network device refreshes).
3. Monitor incoming tickets and take the appropriate action, including updates and closures.
4. Provide “state of the network” status reports throughout the shift.
5. Troubleshoot VPN access tickets.
6. Monitor and open tickets for selected network events.
7. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
3. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VPNs.
4. Troubleshooting WAN and LAN network issues with connectivity.
5. Experience with network security practices and tools.
6. Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices.
7. Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Relevant certifications (such as CCNA or CCNP) are preferred.
