These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations. |
Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Application Developer for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). This position is expected to work on projects of moderate complexity, including web-based and mobile solutions, doing significant development, design, and analysis. Design will often need to account for the impact on other complex systems. Among the key duties of this position are the following: |
- Makes technology decisions and/or recommendations regarding advanced tools, platforms, etc. of an innovative nature.
- Interfaces with users to determine their requirements.
- Designs systems for users to satisfy their needs.
- Works with various developers, business managers, and product managers to create software applications containing required features and modifications.
- Performs server and database administration to support custom applications.
- Responsible for staying informed of advances in software development technology and adapting to new development tools and techniques.
- Keeps custom applications up to date with advancing technology.
- Performs software security audits and quality assurance on new and existing code base; and performs testing in virtual and containerized environments to ensure business, performance, and security requirements are met.
- Prepares documentation for users and other developers in accordance with internal and external standards.
- Gives guidance and assistance as needed.
- Operates under general supervision.
