Summary
We are seeking a Senior/Product Design Engineer at GoerTek Santa Clara office to work on consumer electronics optical products. The Product Design Engineer works closely with customers engineering team on product development from concept to mass production. Internally work and drive with cross functional team to meet product specification from design, process though engineering builds. Focusing on facilitating technical communication between engineering groups and non-technical team members, the PD Engineer will use his/her technical expertise to help identify solutions for engineering issue during the project development and review all technical work.
The Senior/ PD Engineer will work on project-based team structure. PD resource will also be shared on multiple projects in a matrix organization. This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict other tasks that may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Team up with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, marketing and customers to define a mechanical design for variety of consumer electronic products.
- Using Pro/E CAD program to create or review 3D database and drawings.
- Conduct Mechanical Design Review with customer which includes detail in dimensional tolerance analysis, basic FEA calculation, DFM and manufacturing assembly flow and fixture.
- I nterfacing with testing laboratories, and suppliers for the development and cost requirements.
- Conduct international conference call with both US customer and manufacturing team in China.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in product design.
- Experienced in metal stamping, plastic injection molding, basic manufacturing techniques using commercially available materials.
- Experienced in full design and development cycle on consumer electronic products.
- Experienced in CAD programs; (Pro/E, UG).
- Experienced in Microsoft office tools including Microsoft office Project.
- Experienced in FATP assembly and module level design is a plus.
- Good communication skills and team player.
- Fluent in conversational Mandarin is highly desired.
- Travel at our HQ or customers’ request
- The base pay range for this role is between $127,029.00 to $148,200.00 annually and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
