POSITION SUMMARY
The Enabling Functions Engineer will work across the Enabling Functions business leaders (HR, Legal, Corporate Communications, and Sustainability) to maximize the impact of IT capabilities on business performance and ensure IT services meet business objectives. Reporting to the Human Resources business partner lead, this person will play a critical role in ensuring the Enabling Functions technologies solutions accomplish business objectives.
This position will work closely with other Zoetis Tech & Digital (ZTD IT) functions including the Digital, Data & Analytics, IT Compliance, Infrastructure, Operations, Project Management Office along with business colleagues and 3rd party Providers to plan, define and execute all design and development related activities.
Key activities include:
- Acting as the senior technical advisor to ZTD and Enabling Functions business leadership.
- Managing the development and execution of Enabling Functions technology solutions.
- Driving business process improvement and automation using new and existing IT capabilities.
- Identifying and implementing potential new business capabilities through technology.
- Leveraging and maximizing the capabilities of existing technologies.
- Participating in the development of IT business strategies and plans that support the long-term Enabling Functions vision.
- Partnering with the IT business partner and business leaders in the annual enterprise portfolio and budget development process.
- Supporting the management of approved budget spends, updating of forecasts and ensuring actual expenses are properly captured and accounted throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participating in business team meetings to identify and understand potential issues or opportunities.
- Partnering with the Enabling Functions Business Partner leads in managing project portfolios with consistent, open communication and alignment within the ZTD leadership team on approach.
- Developing business/functional cross-platform solution requirements.
- Participating in business discussions and planning sessions and ensuring effective communications with all stakeholders.
- Negotiating agreements and contracts with the business.
- Maintaining strong positive relationships with multiple levels of business owners and IT technical leads.
- Influencing technology solutions and services to align with business unit needs.
- Ensuring delivery of IT solutions and services and owning resolution of delivery issues.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with HR to lead, design and deliver highly innovative enterprise solutions leveraging the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) platform.
- Leverage technical expertise of LMS platforms to design, build and execute a long-term training technology roadmap.
- Provide IT technical oversight for HR Operations with HR Core systems including Workday, internal colleague engagement systems, and payroll management systems.
- Partner with IT technology teams to integrate HR platforms with other enterprise technologies. Requires strong knowledge of technologies included but not limited to, ServiceNow, S/4 HANA, OneStream, Salesforce, Kronos, and Active Directory.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 7-10 years' experience within IT and/or as part of a Human Resource function.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to absorb and analyze new technologies and business processes.
- Must be highly motivated, self-starting, and committed to achieving results and have a strong sense of ownership and follow-through to resolution.
- Proven ability to interface with and influence personnel at all levels, including senior leadership executives and external providers.
- Strong experience in partnering with the Human Resource function to define and deliver technology solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing IT projects, including planning, defining, and executing design and development activities.
- Must possess organizational proficiencies to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision.
- Experience supporting the development of business cases for IT solutions.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Proven technical/engineering-level knowledge of Workday (HR and payroll), enterprise LMS (Success Factors preferred), Kronos (time and attendance), enterprise workforce planning, and colleague/employee engagement capabilities.
- Ability to build and leverage Scorecards, Dashboards, and Performance management metrics for Human Resource Management.
- Strong understanding of SOWs (Statements of Work), SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and OLAs (Operational Level Agreements).
- Experience with Gen AI capabilities including ChatGPT and Microsoft Co-pilot (preferred).
- Knowledge of integrating platforms with other enterprise technologies such as ServiceNow, S/4 HANA, OneStream, Salesforce, Kronos, and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with Sustainability technologies including Netzero Cloud and sustainability reporting solutions (e.g., Workiva, Sphera) is desired.
- Understanding of social media communications and tools to increase internal communications capabilities is desired.
- Understanding of legal technology platforms such as Contract Management and Intellectual Property solutions is desired.
- Experience in Service Delivery Management - Must have knowledge and experience in managing service delivery within the Animal Health industry or other regulated industries like Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, and Healthcare. This includes understanding industry trends, regulatory compliance, market dynamics, and operational challenges, with a focus on enabling functions such as HR, ESG, and Law.
