Open Systems Technologies Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist with Back End Data Engineering support to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) on the ADVANA program. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in analyzing complex data sets, developing advanced analytical models, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making within the DoD. Additionally, your expertise in back-end data engineering will be essential in ensuring efficient data processing, storage, and integration for the ADVANA program.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data analytics requirements and translate them into actionable data science projects.
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large and complex data sets, extracting meaningful insights and patterns.
- Develop predictive models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to support decision-making processes within the DoD.
- Design and implement data pipelines, data integration processes, and data transformation workflows to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
- Work closely with the back-end data engineering team to optimize data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science models and solutions into existing systems and workflows.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and proactively suggest innovative approaches to enhance the ADVANA program's data analytics capabilities.
- Document and communicate findings, methodologies, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies and regulations.
Requirements:
- CLEARANCE: Secret
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, sci-kit-learn).
- Strong knowledge of data engineering principles, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large and complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with DoD data and security requirements is a plus.
