Advantage technical has partnered with an biomedical/biotechnology engineering firm and multinational manufacturer of medical devices on a search for a Electrical R&D Technician.


Job description


The Electrical R&D Technician plays a critical role in the development of innovative medical devices. This position involves designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electronic components and systems. The technician will collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet regulatory standards and performance specifications.


Key Responsibilities

1. Set up and evaluate electrical tests currently in development, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection.

2. Execute design verification tests to validate product performance against specifications.

3. Provide timely and constructive feedback to engineers based on test results and observations.

4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with prototypes and existing products.

5. Collaborate with engineering teams to refine specifications and improve product functionality.

6. Document test procedures, results, and any design changes in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

7. Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for project stakeholders.

8. Maintain equipment and instruments.

9. Train and mentor junior technicians and interns as needed.

10. Participate in design reviews and contribute to project planning activities.

11. Use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams to identify and obtain supplies and services.

12. Act as a resource to other employees.

13. Communicate project status to project teams.

14. Assist project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards.

15.Will be working with a team of 5-6 engineers on different tests.


Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.


Qualifications

AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3 years of related experience.

Electrical background and experience

Design test verification experience

Familiarity with test setup and running tests
