Profile

Title: VP of Technology - Hands-on Leader: Data, SQL, .net, Product
Location: Nashville, TN
Salary: $120,000 - 140,000 Bonus

Responsibilities

  1. Leads and directs the Technical Delivery department to ensure strategic and effective use of technology in support of operations and delivery of products and services.
  2. Ensures maximum system availability, data integrity, and data security.
  3. Researches, recommends, and directs the implementation of new/improved technology to further the competitive position.
  4. Directs and manages the technology functions to ensure that systems, networks, hardware, and telecommunications operate effectively.
  5. Participates in IT project priority process and offers recommendations on scope and difficulty of proposed projects.
  6. Oversees the management of approved IT projects to ensure timely completion, effective testing, coordinated delivery, and ongoing communication with all stakeholders regarding project status and issues.
  7. Ensures development of processing and backup procedures to safeguard system integrity and facilitate systems recovery.
  8. Develops, updates, and ensures compliance with disaster recovery plans and systems security/loss prevention plans.
  9. Works with technology partners and the internal technology team to develop operational standards for IT functions and processes.
  10. Directs development team in measuring and improving the productivity and efficiency of IT resources against standards.
  11. Ensures timely and accurate diagnosis and resolution of network and system-related issues.
  12. Consults with peer executives regarding opportunities to enhance operational efficiency or product delivery.
  13. Assesses the effectiveness of existing networks and telecommunication systems.
  14. Keeps abreast of changing trends in technology.
  15. Negotiates cost-effective contracts for systems, hardware, software, or peripherals.
  16. Serves as central contact for both internal and external audit of critical systems.
  17. Ensures that the department complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
  18. Ensures effective communications throughout the IT department and with other divisions/departments.
  19. Prepares annual budget for the department and ensures compliance with budget guidelines.

Qualifications

  1. 10 to 15 years prior experience as an Information Systems Manager.
  2. 2 years’ experience in a medium to large-sized IT department.
  3. Experience of process management or ownership.
  4. Experience within either the transactional mail space or web-driven ecommerce systems environment is preferred.
  5. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
