Language/Compiler Engineer
This position will be part of a team working on a new compiler and necessary libraries and runtime support, designed to meet a challenging mix of speed and space constraints arising in business-critical production settings. The position is expected to have a broad knowledge of compilers, interpreters and their associated runtime support. Specific skills of interest include type checkers, functional programming, managed language runtimes and dynamic languages.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work as part of the compiler team, including analyzing and improving the compiler quality and performance.
- Implement tools such as linters and typecheckers.
- Stay abreast of latest developments in compilation/PL.
- Contribute to the development of compiler documentation and user guides.
Qualifications
- MS/PhD in PL/Compilers highly desirable.
- Broad knowledge of compilers, interpreters, and their associated runtime support.
- Proficiency in a variety of development styles and languages, both static and dynamic.
- Expertise in as many as possible of the following: functional programming, type checker implementation, managed language runtimes, dynamic languages.
- Strong design and analytical skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills.
- Strong background in software engineering principles with a focus on crafting robust and maintainable solutions to challenging problems.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
