Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell Mechanical Systems and Components organization in the Actuation Group. You will be integral in creating design solutions for actuation systems across the aerospace industry from flight control actuation on aircraft, missiles and launch vehicles. You will be involved in every aspect of the system life cycle; from the initial design concepts through product end of life.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the System and Component Requirements analysis and decompositionActuation system integration and component developmentMechanical Systems design and component controller integrationElectro-Mechanical System and Component Modeling and AnalysisControl architecture and designPhysics based model development and system designRoot cause and corrective action planning and executionMechanical Systems validation & verificationCustomer technical interfaceEffective delegation of work to team membersProject management performance and executionCost, schedule, and milestone development/managementRisk (threats/opportunities) development and managementCustomer communication and relationshipsUnderstand actuation technologyMetric development/reportingHardware supplier technical communication/interfaceTechnical problem solving/Root cause analysisTechnical documentation – Test plans, procedures, and reportsAnalysis of test data resultsAssess customer requirements documentationAssess Government regulatory requirementsDesign validation and verification through build and test executionProposal development support of estimation of resources and scheduleYOU MUST HAVEBachelors degree in EngineeringMinimum 5+ years of applied engineering experienceU.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTSDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.WE VALUEMasters degree in system design and controls or equivalent experienceKnowledge of the systems and component development lifecyclesExperience with Agile work flow planningExperience with systems requirement flow downExperience developing RCCA plans and execution, with demonstrated resultsExperience developing motor driven actuation systemsExperience with implementing control architecture in electronic controller applicationsExperience with Real Time hardware in the loop controller developmentControl theory basics (block diagram representations of nonlinear and linearized systems, frequency response, gain and phase margins, time constants and interactions, etc.Systems simulation (proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and Excel or other performance modeling software)Thermodynamics experienceFluid dynamics experienceIndividuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and conceptsDiverse and global teaming and collaborationEffective communicatorIndividuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.Multi-tasking and has the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks.Experience with systems requirement V&VHoneywell is an equal opportunity employer.
