VP of Software Engineering

Description:
This VP of Software Engineering will be responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the efforts reports in development of J2EE based software applications/products and overseeing all of the Software Development Managers for this organization.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Meet with Product Management group to define requirements
2. Person MUST have Development background and be able to Manage Developers as well as Product Management team
3. Architectural Design
4. SOA, Agile
5. Software As A Service (SaaS) experience
6. Detail Analysis
7. Guiding the developers on high level architectural changes
8. Design reviews
9. Budget responsibilities, reporting, etc. Will need to understand revenue vs. cost
10. Involvement in future development of product
11. Facilitate communication upward and cross-departmentally including project status, justifications for variances, and technical information (architecture, design and implementation objectives).
12. Ensure projects are completed according to specifications, are properly documented, and brought to a timely, profitable completion.

Requirements:

1. Proven track record in delivering projects and products meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities, including exceptional follow-through
2. Product Development background/Management
3. Experience with Scrum or Agile development
4. 8 years technology experience including software design and development
5. 5 years or more of Java/J2EE experience
6. 5 years or more of Web Services experience
7. Strong leadership and team management skills
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
9. Any publishing vertical experience would be a plus
