Entry Level Traffic Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Boston, MA office is looking for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within a broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal land and aviation.

Responsibilities

1. Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
2. Traffic impact studies
3. Safety studies
4. Transportation planning analyses
5. Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographics
6. Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
7. Traffic data collection and tabulation
8. Intersection and roadway level of service analyses
9. Development, analysis and evaluation of traffic improvements
10. Roadway and intersection conceptual design

Qualifications

1. BS in Civil Engineering
2. 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experience
3. EIT preferred
4. Experience with AutoCAD a plus
5. Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS a plus
6. Experience with ArcGIS a plus

Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Hiring Salary Range - $75,000 - 81,000. However, the final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
