Microsoft SQL DBA, Washington, D.C. area

Must have a minimum of a BA/BS and 3 years of full-time experience in database administration, planning, design, maintenance or related areas.

The candidates for this position should be able to perform the following duties:

1. Designing and configuring database architecture, including hardware and physical layout;
2. Performing monitoring and performance tuning;
3. Provide ongoing database support in multiple-cluster production environment;
4. Perform planned and emergency database maintenance;
5. Handling best practices database troubleshooting, corruption, backup and disaster recovery;
6. Managing distributed databases, and configuring client/server and web-based environments;
7. Perform Development to Production database migrations;
8. Managing the development process;
9. Microsoft SQL database development and administration;
10. Microsoft SQL networking and multi-site replication;
11. Hands-on experience in database administration and T-SQL usage;
12. Experience in large databases, supporting OLTP applications, and Replication technologies;
13. Database security and auditing;
14. Database architecture, including hardware configuration, logical and physical database layouts;
15. Database management, monitoring of multiple databases;
16. Database performance management and tuning;
17. Database fault analysis and resolution;
18. Database backup and disaster recovery procedures;
19. Experience in Linux and Perl a plus;
20. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
