VMWare Engineer

Job Description:
Marathon Oil is seeking an ambitious self-starter VMWare Engineer to support Hyper Converged platform in a large 24x7 enterprise environment. This position will be responsible for supporting VxRack, VxRail based ESXI environments. The role requires excellent understanding with ESXI servers, Horizon View, and vSAN storage.

The team is responsible for the day to day management of all VMWare/Hyper converged functions, including daily capacity reports, systems health, updates/patches, performance tuning/monitoring, and project work.
Job Description:
Demonstrated Experience with the following:
• Lead and assist in design and support of various virtualized environments with a strong focus in ESXI and vSAN storage
• Proficient on virtual server/machine build through templates/clone/snapshot, data store allocation, create, manage and maintain desktop/application pools
• Excessive focus on operational excellence, demonstrate ownership on day to day operational issues while participating in project work
• Configuration and tuning expertize in Horizon View including published apps, virtual desktop (VDI), App Volume, User Environment Manager (UEM), and WorkSpace One
• Experience in managing Windows server operating systems (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and related utilities and hardware - Cisco/DELL
• Understanding in ticketing processes; incidents, tasks, change management and SLA management
• Ownership of the creation and maintenance of architectural and operational procedural documentation
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is a plus
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in IT related field
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in VMWare
• Effectively work in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide 24x7 support including on-call rotation
• AWS Solution or VMWare cloud knowledge concentration in multi OS server infrastructure is a plus
• VMWare Certification would be a plus
