Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) Developmental Services' Office of Information Services and Technology (IS&T) is seeking an experienced IT professional to serve as a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer II for the Information Technology (IT) division. This role will play a key role in delivering reliable, efficient, and secure technology solutions by leveraging cloud technologies, automation, and DevSecOps practices. This position requires expertise in implementing infrastructure as code, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring cloud security, and fostering a culture of shared responsibility in system delivery, as well as an analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and implement automation solutions that will create an immediate impact.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Implementing and maintaining infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation to automate cloud resource management.
• Developing and optimizing deployment pipelines for continuous integration and deployment using AWS CodePipeline and similar tools.
• Automating configuration management, software deployments, and environment setup.
• Monitoring infrastructure health, performance, and cost using AWS CloudWatch.
• Implementing security controls, IAM policies, and encryption mechanisms to protect cloud environments.
• Designing and managing container clusters and scaling strategies using ECS for high availability and scalability.
• Integrating and optimizing DevSecOps tools and processes, including source code repositories and collaboration tools.
• Implementing monitoring and logging solutions to track system metrics and improve operational efficiency.
• Providing training to end users and collaborating with product owners to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to align solutions with enterprise architecture patterns and policies.
• Creating detailed documentation for design, testing, and production support processes.
• Designing and implementing secure infrastructure as code and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Supporting configuration drift management and ensuring consistency across environments.
• Implementing security controls and monitoring tools and responding to incidents proactively.
• Contributing to innovation and continuous learning initiatives to improve solution efficiency and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
• Advanced expertise in cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and associated cloud services.
• Strong experience with DevSecOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and containerization.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Bash) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of Software Engineering lifecycle methodologies.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and cloud best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Additional Considerations
• Experience in IT and business/industry field.
• Familiarity with VITA standards and processes.
