We are currently working in partnership with a global chemicals and advanced materials manufacturer based in the Chicago, IL area, who are looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team. As a Project Engineer, you will manage CAPEX measures and projects through all project phases within the defined budget, timeline and quality parameters.
To be considered for this role, you will have a degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering, with 5+ years’ experience in project engineering within a chemical processing environment. You will also have experience leading capital projects from initial concept through to commissioning.
This is an excellent position for a global leader in the industry. Basic salary is around $120,000 dependant on experience, – fully dependent on a variety of factors relating to the experience of the applicant. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute defined scope of CAPEX measures and projects (or their subprojects) within budget, time, quality and safety parameters
- Lead complex engineering projects from concept to scoping, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up
- Prepare relevant designs, cost estimates, time schedules, resource plans, risk analysis including HAZOP’s, change orders, etc.
- Responsible for post-completion project evaluation and analysis (KPIs, lessons learned)
- Review, develop and update engineering processes and procedures
- Carry out process studies, process optimization, troubleshooting and safety/reliability improvements
- Research new manufacturing methods and technologies
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in a project engineering role, leading complex engineering projects from initial concept through to start-up
- Experience with NFPA, Cost Engineering, SAP and AutoCad
