About the Team/Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated, technically deep, and experienced engineering leader to join and manage a group of high-performing engineers in the Data technology org. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of data infrastructure and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our data systems.
The Director of Data Engineering will report to the VP of Data Technology. An ideal candidate will have rich experience in large scale platform/application development, data ingestion, processing and serving, and various data architectures such as data warehouse, data lake, etc., along with outstanding people leadership and project management skills.

- Lead and drive the development of data engineering technology and platforms for the company's data needs.

Experience you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a higher degree is a plus.
- Proven track record with at least 10+ years of experience in data engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience in designing solutions on High trust/PCI-compliant cloud data platform.
- Deep knowledge in data ingestions, including streaming technology.
- Proficiency with data platform architecture and design.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong expertise in designing and building scalable data pipelines.
- Experience in migrating data from existing warehouses to cloud data platform.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary based on various factors. WEX's comprehensive and market competitive benefits support your personal and professional well-being.
Pay Range: $181,000.00 - $241,000.00
