Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team responsible both for developing next generation multi-spectral (infrared, low-light, and visible light) imaging systems and supporting the existing systems. Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work independently as well as collaboratively on complex systems, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Participate in software design in a complex multi-processor environment.
2. Implement low level hardware interfacing software, this includes all phases of the software development life cycle from product requirements, through design, implementation, integration, testing, and support.
3. Design for real-time embedded software systems using asymmetric multiprocessing techniques, in a multithreaded environment using commercial operating systems (e.g. Linux, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, etc.) for various hardware platforms (ARM64, Snapdragon etc.).
4. Implement complex serial and packetized protocols on Ethernet, MS1553, CAN, and/or serial connections, such as TCP/IP, RTP, NMEA, ISA, or JSON.

Job Qualifications

1. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or applicable technical field required.
2. 5+ years of embedded real-time development experience of multithreaded software.
3. Complete command of the C/C++ programming language with fluency in object-oriented design methods and concepts required.
4. Linux user and kernel space development experience (device driver development, device trees, patch development).
5. Experience with Linux kernel drivers and interfacing to custom hardware.
6. FreeRTOS or other real-time operating system experience.
7. GStreamer and Gstreamer plug-in development experience.
8. Experience in hardware bring-up and debugging.
9. Experience with version control software, Perforce, GIT, or similar tools.
10. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills to foster a cooperative environment.
11. Strong team member with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience In The Following Is a Plus

1. Experience with Qt and Qml.
2. Experience with Open CL.
3. Familiarity with Open CV.
4. Experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon architecture.
5. Experience with networking protocols.
6. Experience with AI Image processing concepts used in object detection, recognition, classification and tracking.
