Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Water Resources and Resiliency Engineer with experience in stormwater management and water quality services for a position in one of our South Carolina or Richmond, VA offices. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a willingness to work in a team-oriented collaborative atmosphere and have 5-10 years’ experience working on stormwater and resiliency projects.
What you’ll do:
- Preparation of plans and specifications for permitting, bidding and construction
- Prepare and/or supervise engineering reports, studies, calculations, and Contract Documents
- Review assigned project(s) to define project scope, determine work procedures and develop schedules and staffing needs
- Review internal and external work to determine technical accuracy of designs
- Attend public hearings and present projects to various committees and boards
- Participate in professional organizations through presentations and/or technical committees
What you will bring:
- BS in Civil, Environmental, or equivalent Engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred
- Professional engineering registration/license or ability to receive one; South Carolina preferred
- Experience with the AutoCAD environment; a strong skill set both with basic AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Experience with public speaking at public hearings, workshops, and seminars
- Ability to handle flexible workload, diverse project files, and working well with multiple staff members
- Valid driver’s license is required. Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites
- Familiarity with South Carolina regulations as they pertain to Stormwater and Site Development
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational/time management skills are required
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, team leadership, and mentoring
- Honest and ethical, producing high quality work, and a commitment to teamwork, respect, and integrity
