We are hiring a Software Engineer II - Teams for the Teams SCIP organization. The Teams SCIP (Security, Compliance, and Information Protection) organization contributes to Microsoft success through the provisioning of features and the enablement of scenarios that allow our customers and their users to ensure the compliance, governance, protection, and security of their interactions in Teams.
We are collaborating with multiple partner teams to ensure Teams provide the best and most comprehensive solution for communication auditing, governance, data leak prevention, and information protection.
We are looking for an initiative-taking Software Engineer with demonstrated experience in design and implementation leadership to join our world-class team of software engineers.

Responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the design, building, adaptation, execution, and maintenance of Chat, Calling, and Meeting Protection full-stack solutions in Microsoft Teams.
- Helping design, implement, test, and roll out multiple APIs that can be consumed for lighting up new Data Governance and Information Protection scenarios.
- Effectively collaborating within the Teams organization, and with other product groups across Microsoft in the design and implementation of software solutions.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- You are actively coding – you are comfortable in object-oriented languages like C# or Java; you have a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns; and you have got at least 5 years of industry experience as a software engineer (and multiple product release cycles) to prove it.
- You are comfortable with a fast pace of execution and working in a culture that has action bias.
- You collaborate – you can explain your work, you are inquisitive, you listen to your peers and your customers, and you like to give and receive feedback.
- You are learning – you are always seeking to learn more and to become a better engineer.
Additional skills that are not required but that would be immediately beneficial:
- Experience working with .Net/C#/Azure
- Experience working with Git
- Experience Building and maintaining public APIs
- React or any web front end development experience.
- Experience working in geographically distributed teams.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
