Principal Software Engineering Manager - UX/UI

If the answer is yes, we would like to hear from you! The Microsoft 365 Engineering team is looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager - UX/UI to join our team. Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of UX engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence. Drive the technical strategy for building scalable, performant, and accessible web applications using modern front-end technologies. Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other engineering teams to align product vision and deliverables. Deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.
  2. Technical Execution: Oversee the design and development of complex web applications using modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Relay, Storybook, and Jest. Guide and coach teams on technical strategy, including reviewing design documents and architecture proposals. Build telemetry, monitors, and automation to prevent and remediate application problems, ensuring that issues are identified early and do not escalate into production incidents. Take a hands-on approach by staying involved in the code and deeply understanding how the software functions.
  3. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Champion the adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance the development process and improve the user experience. Encourage and guide the team in experimenting with new ideas and approaches to solve complex problems. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of web development. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, design-driven, product development cycle.
